The government intends to oblige teachers of schools and universities to communicate with their students, as well as their parents, only through Russian messengers, mail and video-conferencing services.
According to Kommersant with reference to the action plan of the state program “Creation of additional conditions for the development of the information technology industry”, which the Ministry of Digital Industry sent to the Cabinet of Ministers, by the end of this year, the department should prepare an appropriate regulatory framework. By February next year, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education will prepare appropriate recommendations for teachers.
The authorities plan to introduce a similar obligation for all civil servants and employees of budgetary institutions.
IT industry experts regarded this innovation as useful, but pointed out that this plan is difficult to implement. According to experts, success will depend on the willingness of Russians to install new applications in their smartphones in addition to the existing ones, as well as on the convenience of using them.
