The Japanese company Sony has officially unveiled the new FX3 full-frame camera. The manufacturer promises “cinematic visual expression and high performance” complete with compactness and lightness. The camera measures 129.7 x 84.5 x 77.8 mm and weighs 715 grams (including battery and memory cards).
The FX3 is built around a 10.2 megapixel back-illuminated full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR image processor. The new product provides ISO extensions up to 409,600 for shooting video in low light conditions and supports 15+ stops of dynamic range. The standard sensitivity is ISO 80-102 400. The S-Cinetone color profile is provided for a cinematic effect.
It is possible to shoot 4K video at 60 (continuous) or 120 frames per second. 5-axis optical image stabilization improves the smoothness of images when shooting handheld. Meanwhile, the new Apple iMac unexpectedly received seven colors at once.
