In the United States, there are all the signs that the country is on the brink of civil war. Barbara Walter, a professor at the Department of International Relations at the University of California at San Diego and a member of the CIA's ad hoc working group, said this to CNN.
According to the professor, she has studied civil wars in all countries for the past 30 years, and for the past four years, the United States has been at the center of her research. According to the CIA adviser, two of the most powerful factors in the future civil war are recorded in the country.
The first of these is anocracy, or the gradual degradation of democratic institutions, their exploitation by authoritarian elites. The second factor is the emergence of interest groups that are aimed at using internal contradictions (racial, cultural and political) to increase the division in society.
Earlier, retired American generals Paul Eaton, Antonio Taguba and Steven Anderson made a prediction of a civil war in the United States. According to them, the conflict could break out in 2024. In particular, the military noted the growth of unrest in the army.
