In his homeland, this 29-year-old boy is called “the king of sales of Chinese goods.”
His live broadcasts on social networks, where he tests cosmetic novelties, are waiting for hundreds of thousands of viewers. Several million people have subscribed to Li Jiaqi's accounts.
Every evening, the blogger sits down in front of a cell phone camera and talks about beauty products. Its broadcasts are watched not only by Chinese fashionistas, but also by manufacturers of “made in China” cosmetics. They pay the guy a lot of money because his ads soar up sales. Once, Li Jiaqi sold 15,000 tubes of lipstick in 5 minutes. And if you count all the transactions made with his participation, then only lipstick brought the manufacturers $ 142 million.
“It is generally accepted in the world that the best cosmetics are made in France and America,” says Lee. – I will not argue, but I will say that there are high-class brands in my home country, and I am talking about this. I'm sure Chinese cosmetics can be expensive too. It is in no way inferior to the European one.
After graduating from high school, Li Jiaqi took a job as a sales assistant at a cosmetics store. Unlike his colleagues, who tested products on the skin of their hands and showed the result to clients, he was not afraid to show everything on himself. At first, they poked at the guy with their fingers – they say, not a girl, but paint – but he did not pay attention to anyone. The buyers, feeling his sincerity and interest, began to turn for help only to him.
And then the streaming service Taobao Live became interested in the work of the young Chinese. He invited Lee to broadcast live and give away promotional codes for discounts. He agreed and attracted thousands of users to the platform. In 2019, 35 million people visited Taobao Live just to see the beauty recommendations of a Chinese beauty guru.
Li Jiaqi isn't just promoting cosmetics. This year, he sold 5,000 gold bars in one minute and earned several million dollars in interest on sales.
