China has called on the World Health Organization to investigate versions of the coronavirus leak from the US military laboratory Fort Detrick and laboratories in other countries.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said this during a briefing.
According to her, members of the WHO expert group said that “if necessary, they will conduct research in laboratories around the world.”
“As you know, such studies have already taken place in laboratories in Wuhan. However, when will Fort Detrick open to experts? ” – TASS quotes her.
Also, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced the readiness of the Chinese side for further cooperation with WHO in the framework of the study of the origin of the coronavirus.
“It should be global in nature and not be limited to any region of the world,” said a Chinese foreign policy official.
Earlier, the Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called for additional research in connection with the version of the laboratory origin of the coronavirus infection COVID-19.
