The authorities in the Chinese city of Xi'an have introduced a strict quarantine due to the spread of the coronavirus. This was reported by the Daily Mail newspaper.

In the 13 millionth city, now, according to official figures, there are 143 infected residents. From December 21 to December 22, 52 new cases of infection appeared. For China, which is preparing to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, the challenge of keeping COVID-19 infectious as much as possible has become critical.

By order of the administration, all residents of the city must be at home. Each household can send one person every two days to shop for basic necessities. It is also permissible to leave the house in case of emergencies.

On December 1, 2021, the PRC State Health Committee announced a new outbreak of coronavirus in the country. The center of the spread of the new wave of the disease was the Inner Mongolia region on the border with Russia.
