For the first time in the past 13 years, taikonauts (as astronauts are called in China) have gone into outer space.
This was done by the crew members of the Chinese orbital station Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo. There are three taikonauts in the module. For extravehicular operations, two were involved, and the crew commander, Nie Haisheng, meanwhile, was engaged in auxiliary work inside the station.
We will remind, China launched a carrier rocket with a manned spacecraft “Shenzhou-12” on June 17. The ship flew to the Tiangong orbital station under construction in China. The crew will have to return to Earth in September.
It is worth noting that one of the taikonauts, Liu Boming, had already flown into space in 2008 and participated in the first Chinese spacewalk.
