It is more profitable for Beijing to stick together with Moscow than to help Ukraine.
As soon as the Russian Federation is defeated in the war, China will immediately support our country.
This opinion was expressed by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, head of the Center for Russian Studies Vladimir Ogryzko on the Espreso TV channel.
According to him, China now does not want to lose its ideological and dependent partner, which he sees as the Russian Federation.
“Let’s put ourselves in China’s place, why should I, a Chinese, lose Russia when we can jointly resist the hated West, and especially since I can influence this Russia. Then I will not make this partner disappear somewhere and, on the contrary, I will quietly, calmly, under the table, anywhere help him, so that he holds on and we are together,” Ohryzko explained.
However, according to him, as soon as Russia suffers a defeat, China will be forced to adapt to events, and therefore will immediately change its attitude towards our country.
“Believe me, as soon as Russia falls, China will love Ukraine very much and will say: what happened before this was a mistake, this is some Wang Yi – they will remove him or shoot him publicly in a stadium and so on, they will make him a scapegoat and say that this really was not the official position, these were some distortions in the Ukrainian issue,” the former Minister of Foreign Affairs suggested.
Vladimir Ohryzko emphasized that it is now more profitable for Beijing to stick together with Moscow, and in order for the attitude to change, Ukraine needs to defeat this “damned half-empire.”
“After this, the situation in the world will be completely different and China will not be able to play on the side of evil, it will look for ways to negotiate with the same West, because this is ultimately more important to it,” he concluded.
Recall that the Chinese government recently announced that it is ready to develop partnership relations with Ukraine in all areas.
