“China Threatens the US in Its Backyard”: Chinese and Russian Aircraft Approach Alaska

According to experts, the incident off the coast of Alaska was intended to “demonstrate China's strength.”

Russian and Chinese strategic bombers flew together off the coast of Alaska this week.

The publication's military observer Julian Riepcke noted that this is the first recorded case of Chinese military aircraft using Russian territory as a take-off point to reach the US coast. Permission for Russia to use its Far Eastern airfields will allow China to directly threaten the United States and Canada with airstrikes on their territory in the event of war.

It is known that four Tu-95 and Xian H-6 bombers flew 300 kilometers off the coast of Alaska until they were intercepted by five American and Canadian fighters and escorted out of the air defense recognition zone.

“This is the first time these two countries have flown together like this. If it happens again, I have every confidence that we will be ready,” US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said after the incident.

China expert Jakub Janda believes that the appearance of Chinese aircraft near Alaska was a “demonstration forces.”

“It's like the Chinese submarines going around San Francisco. China is threatening the US in their own backyard and basically saying, “Look, you're interfering in our internal affairs in Taiwan, we can also come really close to your territory.” “China is at the head of an axis of dictatorships with its de facto puppet allies – Russia, North Korea and Iran,” Yanda noted.

He added that China gives Russia money, political support and technology in exchange for military aircraft, ships and military bases.

Recall that China is conducting exercises with Russia and Belarus right on the border with NATO. Thus, it is increasingly involved in activities aimed at undermining the United States and its allies.
