China began testing the largest aircraft carrier in its history.
China launched its third and largest aircraft carrier, Fujian, for sea trials.
Global Times reports this.
As the publication notes, sea trials are aimed primarily at testing the reliability and stability of the ship's power plants and electrical systems.
“Fujian” is an aircraft carrier with a non-nuclear power plant. According to data from open sources, it has a length of about 315 m and a width of 75 m. The ship’s displacement (full) is 80 thousand tons. The new aircraft carrier is larger than the Liaoning and Shandong, two other Chinese aircraft carriers of this class.

Fujian also became the first Chinese aircraft carrier to receive the CATOBAR (Catapult Assisted Take Off But Arrested Recovery) system, allowing the aircraft take off using a catapult and land using an arresting device. New electromagnetic catapults will be used to launch aviation.
Recall that Taiwan is on alert for Chinese military exercises.
