Chinese diplomat claims that his country supports the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state .

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United States, Qin Gang, claims that the government of his country was not aware of the Kremlin's preparations for a war against Ukraine.

A Chinese diplomat said this in his publication in The Washington Post.

According to him, the war unleashed by Russia is “not in favor” of the PRC, since China is the largest trading partner for both the Russian Federation and Ukraine. In addition, this state is the largest importer of crude oil and natural gas in the world.

Qin Gang denies that China knew about Putin's preparations for war, agreed with Russian aggression or silently supported it. He emphasized that more than 6,000 Chinese citizens were in Ukraine at the time of the invasion.

The Chinese Ambassador to the United States assures that his country's position on Ukraine is “objective and impartial” and it consists in the fact that it is necessary fully comply with the principles of the UN Charter, as well as respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, including Ukraine.

“If China knew about the imminent crisis, we would do everything possible to prevent it,” said he.

In the context of Russian aggression in Ukraine, Qin Gang mentioned the situation around Taiwan. “Ukraine is a sovereign state, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China's territory. The issue of Taiwan is China's internal affair,” he stressed.

Recall that shortly before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Shortly thereafter, the two countries announced a partnership without limits.
