China is analyzing the course of the war in Ukraine and is studying how to counter Javelins and shoot down Starlink satellites.
Western analysts believe that China is closely monitoring the course of hostilities in Ukraine, likely to use it later in the conflict with US-backed Taiwan.
Reuters writes about it.
Reuters journalists analyzed about 100 articles in more than 20 Chinese magazines on military topics and came to the conclusion that Beijing is alarmed by American technology. Obviously, the Chinese are most worried about Elon Musk's Starlink and the Javelin anti-tank missiles used by the Ukrainian military.
While Chinese officials eschew any overtly critical commentary on Moscow's actions or hostilities, calling for peace and dialogue, articles in public journals are more candid in assessing Russia's shortcomings.
Thus, Chinese experts are studying the role of the Starlink network, which provides communication for Ukrainian defenders: China is seeking a solution on how to disable this system. Beijing will also invest more in combat drones already being tested in Taiwanese airspace.
Many other articles focus on the mistakes of the Russian army in the war against Ukraine, one in the tank war journal identifying outdated tactics and the lack of a unified command, and another in the electronic war journal saying that Russian interference in communications was not enough to counter providing NATO with intelligence information to the Ukrainians, leading to expensive ambushes.
Recall China demands that Ukraine and Russia sit down at the negotiating table. Beijing has also said that the war in Ukraine is allegedly controlled by an “invisible hand”.
