The success of the project is also evidenced by the fact that the Russian military was originally going to build four patrol ships of the 22160 type, and then their number was increased to 12 pieces.
In May, it was reported that the Russian Navy would send a “hunting flock” to “protect” its strategic submarines and corresponding naval bases from enemy submarines. It includes the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters, small anti-submarine ships and the latest project 22160 patrol corvette “Vasily Bykov”.
