China and Russia discussed the war in Ukraine: Beijing’s position was announced

by alex

China believes that the settlement of the military conflict on the territory of Ukraine should take place with the participation of representatives of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Russia's Mikhail Galuzin and China's special representative for Eurasian affairs Li Hui said that it is impossible to discuss a settlement to the war in Ukraine without the participation of Moscow

The Reuters agency writes about this with reference to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Chinese ambassador met with Galuzin as part of his second tour to Europe, dedicated to the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The trip program also includes visits to Poland, Ukraine and Germany.

“A very interested and detailed exchange of views took place on the topic of the Ukrainian crisis. It was stated that any discussion of a political and diplomatic settlement is impossible without the participation of Russia and taking into account its interests in the security sphere,” the report on the results of the meeting says on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Recall that China presented its 12-point peace plan regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine. Among other things, the plan calls for abandoning the “Cold War mentality,” ending hostilities and “unilateral sanctions” against Russia, and resuming peace negotiations.

Commenting on China’s proposal, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Kyiv and its Western allies will eventually agree to a “peace plan.”
