China and Russia accused of stealing coronavirus vaccine developments

by alex

Chinese and Russian hackers have again been accused of stealing coronavirus vaccine developments from Spain. Writes about this El Pais, citing unnamed sources.

It is noted that the director of the National Intelligence Center of the Kingdom of Paz Esteban warned of the growth of hacker attacks, which was observed after the introduction of quarantine measures. In particular, attacks against “sensitive sectors” such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals have become more frequent.

El Pais sources claim that most often cyber attacks on research centers in Spain were carried out from China. They allegedly want to steal the development of a vaccine against coronavirus infection. At the same time, three Spanish centers that are working on the drug have no information about cyberattacks.

At the end of July, US State Department officials claimed that China was sponsoring hackers who were trying to get data on the COVID-19 vaccine developed, in particular, by Moderna. Because of this, on July 22, the United States demanded that China close the Consulate General in Houston within 72 hours. In response, China demanded the closure of the US consulate in Chengdu.
