Children go on strike over new school uniform rules

Pupils in the English school expressed dissatisfaction with the “racist” policy regarding school uniforms. Reported by The Sun.

According to the material, London's Pimlico Academy has made changes to its charter: children were banned from African-style haircuts and hijabs in bright colors. As a result, students accused the management of racism, arguing that the new rules oppress African Americans and Muslims.

Schoolchildren staged a strike in front of the building of the educational institution, during which they sat on the ground and chanted: “We want change!” In addition, they held posters with slogans, in particular: “White schools for children of color – madness!”, “The academy is run by racists.”

A health, safety and welfare policy expert at the British Trade Union Congress (TUC) spoke about the incident. “Good morning to the students of the academy who refuse to attend classes in protest against the racist rules of their directors, which prohibit Afro-hairs and multi-colored hijabs. You are heroes. The school must defend all races and religions, not attack them, ”she urged.

However, school staff have not yet commented on the incident.

In July 2020, they decided to include unexpected clothes in the uniforms of Russian schoolchildren. According to the publication, the sweatshirts were included in the preliminary standard for school students. Moreover, they, like other school clothes, must meet certain requirements. So, fabrics of things should “breathe”, absorb and retain moisture, and also not shrink after washing.
