Stanislav Cherchesov on helping Valery Karpin in the Russian national team: if he proposes tomorrow, I'll decide

The head coach of the Hungarian “Ferencvaros” Stanislav Cherchesov spoke about the possibility of helping the coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin. His words are quoted by “Championship.com”.
Cherchesov said that Karpin had no desire to meet with him. “If he doesn’t need it, then he don’t need it. Tomorrow he will offer – I will decide. I'm not going to help him, but the national team. We have no problems with him, and we never had. [Leonid] Slutsky also did not help me, but the national team, ”he stressed.
Earlier on December 21, Cherchesov appreciated the innovations in the Russian national team under Karpin. He did not like the practice of appointing a new captain for every match of the national team. Cherchesov recalled that he had permanent owners of the captain's armband.
Cherchesov worked as the head coach of the Russian national team since 2016. The contract with him was terminated on July 8 this year. Under his leadership, the team reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 home world championship and finished fourth in the group at the 2020 European Championships.
