The head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov commented on the victory over Serbia in the opening match of the UEFA Nations League. His words are quoted by Match TV.
Cherchesov noted that he was not satisfied with the game of his team, as in some simple situations his players lost the ball. At the same time, the coach complained about the long pause in the national teams 'games, which negatively affected the coherence of the players' actions.
Cherchesov also called it unusual to hold a match without spectators. The coach of the national team admitted that at the beginning of the fight he was uncomfortable because of the silence in the stands.
The match between the national teams of Russia and Serbia took place on Thursday, September 3, at the VTB Arena stadium in Moscow. The Russians, who were considered favorites, won 3: 1, Artem Dzyuba scored a double in the hosts. Another goal was scored by Vyacheslav Karavaev.
