Chechens were detained in France again

In French Dijon, immigrants from Chechnya were again detained: they are accused of criminal conspiracy and aggravated violence. This was announced by local prosecutor Eric Mate on his Twitter.

Two Chechens were detained in connection with the riots in June, they are now in custody and awaiting trial. A 30-year-old resident of Nice and a 30-year-old resident of the commune of Dole were charged with “uniting malefactors to prepare a crime punishable by 10 years in prison.” The identities of the detainees have not yet been revealed.

In mid-June, the Service for Information, Intelligence and Strategic Analysis of Organized Crime (SIRASCO) of the Central Directorate of the French Judicial Police released a confidential document in which it described the activities of Chechens living in the country. They were called a threat to the local population.

This was due to the summer riots in Dijon, which began after members of the Chechen diaspora decided to avenge the alleged brutal beating of a 16-year-old Chechen by local drug traffickers. According to local media reports, on June 15, more than 150 natives of Chechnya gathered in the streets of the city for revenge. Many were armed. Then it was noted that 11 people were injured in the clashes, some are in serious condition.
