A Chechen suspected of having links with a Viennese terrorist independently appealed to the Austrian law enforcement agencies because of the door knocked out at home and was caught. It is reported by the Heute edition.
It is noted that the 23-year-old Chechen came to the Vienna police department on November 4. He introduced himself and complained that the door of his apartment had been forced open. It is reported that the police in the course of the conversation realized that in front of them was the man they wanted. As it turned out, his door was knocked out by the Austrian special forces, who planned to detain him – but at that moment the man was not at home.
Earlier it was reported that 14 people were detained in the case of the terrorist attack in Vienna. Among them are citizens of Bangladesh, North Macedonia, Turkey, Austria and Russia. Their age is from 18 to 26 years old.
The shooting in the Austrian capital began on the evening of November 2: the first shots were fired at about 20:00 local time (22:00 Moscow time) at the synagogue in the city center. It was reported that almost simultaneously with this, several more people opened fire in other places. Later it became known that the security forces managed to shoot one of the attackers, others are being sought.
