She told police that she injured him after she learned that her boyfriend had sex with her 15-year-old niece.
A 34-year-old woman, who has not been named, committed a brutal attack in Atibay, near Sao Paulo, on December 22. After tying his limbs to the bed, she pulled out a razor and cut off his penis, local media reported.
The wife then took a photo of the severed private part before flushing it down the toilet. She later went to the police.
Appearing at the local police station with her brother, she said: “Good evening, officer, I came because I just cut off my husband’s penis.” When asked why she threw the organ away, she told officers that she did so after hearing that it could be reattached.
39 year old man was found alive. He was taken to the hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time.
The woman was detained and charged with attempted murder. She claims she began the attack after learning that her husband had sex with her 15-year-old niece.
Police have not commented on the claim, however, other than to confirm that they are looking into whether there may have been a consensual relationship between the man and the girl. The age of consent in Brazil is 14 years old.
