The first owners of Apple Watch SE complained about physical damage to the device. User reviews are available in the post on Reddit.
According to a Reddit post, there were nine confirmed cases of Apple Watch SE physical malfunction between October 10-21. All incidents relate to sudden overheating of the watch case, in some cases the gadget inflicted minor injuries on users. The first review of problems with the cheapest watch in Apple's lineup appeared on October 17th. The owner of the device felt the heating of the accessory case, then a yellow mark appeared on the dial of the device.
Another Apple Watch SE user put on the watch in the morning, then felt a burning sensation on his wrist and removed the accessory. Judging by the attached photos, a small burn appeared on the wrist, and an artifact appeared on the watch screen. Until October 20, only South Korean consumers reported such incidents with watches, but a similar review from a US user emerged on Tuesday. According to him, the device got hot while charging, a yellow mark remained on the dial.
The author of the post on Reddit noted that the artifact on the watch screen appeared in the place where the Taptic Engine mechanisms and the Digital Crown are located. The problems concern all known versions of the accessory – 40 mm models with both GPS and cellular module, as well as the Nike Edition. As of October 21, there are nine known cases of increased Appl Watch heating – eight in South Korea and one in the United States. In most cases, Apple either returned money for a defective device, or accepted it for examination.
The new generation of Apple watches was unveiled at the September 15 event. Together with the flagship Apple Watch 6, the company showed Apple Watch SE, which has a color screen, a new Apple S6 chip, a heart rate monitor, and GPS. The cost of an affordable accessory is 25 thousand rubles.
