Charlie Hebdo reacted to terrorist attacks in France with new cartoon

by alex

The French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo reacted with a new caricature of the terrorist attacks in France that followed the assassination over his cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. The cover of the new issue, playing on this theme, was posted on Twitter.

The cover depicts a cabaret dancer with bare breasts and severed heads. At the same time, they hold their heads under the arm, and on their faces there is a joyful expression. The caption on the picture reads “France will always remain France.” The plot refers to the latest events: on October 29, a native of Tunisia, shouting “Allahu Akbar”, attacked people in a church in Nice with a knife. He managed to kill three and behead one of the victims.

This terrorist attack, as well as a number of other Islamist attacks, followed harsh remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron, who condemned the “Islamic separatism” of immigrant communities and declared a crisis of Islamic faith after an 18-year-old Chechen stabbed his school teacher Samuel Pati. The reason for the murder was that he showed schoolchildren the cartoons of Charlie Hebdo, because of which the editorial office of the magazine was shot by terrorists of the Islamic State.

Macron's statements outraged many countries with a Mohammedan population, as well as a number of Russian Muslims. Mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov cursed the French president on Instagram, and the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, also condemned. TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak spoke in support of Macron's position, after which she began to call and write with threats of reprisals and demands to apologize.

On November 3, the Chechen newspaper Vesti Respubliki published cartoons in response to Charlie Hebdo, depicting the French newspaper as an accomplice to terrorists. The satirical image also appeared on Vesti's Instagram, but was soon removed.
