The European Football Union has moved the 2023 Champions League final from Munich to Istanbul. The Bavarian capital will not be the venue until 2025, UEFA announced on Friday. The Champions League winners Bayern Munich and Chelsea FC were crowned in Lisbon and Porto, respectively.

The next final of the premier class will take place on May 28, 2022 in St. Petersburg. While Istanbul will replace Munich in 2023, the 2024 final is still scheduled for London's Wembley Stadium.
After Dublin and Bilbao were not the intended venues for the past European Championship, the final of the Europa League is to take place in the Irish capital in 2024. Bilbao is to host the final in 2025, and the women's Champions League final is to be held there in 2024.
