Olympic champion in figure skating Dmitry Soloviev, who is in the neurosurgical department of the Botkin Hospital, shared the details of the attack on him. The words of the athlete are quoted by REN TV.

“Young people used foul language and pestered. I just asked them to at least not express themselves, to which they immediately behaved very aggressively, “- said the skater. According to Solovyov, one of the three attackers behaved appropriately and tried to reassure his friends. However, they did not listen to their friend and began to beat the athlete.

The champion remembered that he was first pushed in the chest and fell. After Soloviev, without threats, he asked the young people to behave more calmly, but received two more blows. Then he decided to call the police.

Earlier it became known that a criminal case was initiated against the attackers under article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of medium-gravity harm to health, committed by a group of persons out of hooligan motives”). It provides for imprisonment for up to five years.

On December 21, an athlete was beaten in Moscow by three men when he stood up for his girlfriend, curler Anna Sidorova. The moment of the attack was captured by a video surveillance camera.
