The company added that Dmitry Masyuk, who headed Yandex.Eda, will be responsible for the integrated development of the entire food tech and FMCG business of the company, as well as for the emergence of new user scenarios at the junction of existing services. Its block will include “Yandex.Eda”, “Yandex.Lavka”, the service of discounts “Foodil” and the vertical of consumer goods “Yandex.Market”. At the same time, the structure of the food tech business will not change.
The company emphasized that at the end of 2020, Yandex became one of the leaders in the e-grocery market for the first time. The total sales of FMCG (consumer goods) in Yandex.Market, Yandex.Lavka and Yandex.Edy reached 24 billion rubles. In the second quarter of 2021, FMCG accounted for 39% of the total turnover of Yandex.Market.
