The reason for the removal from the flight from the Canadian Calgary of the Russian youth ice hockey team is named. The head coach of the team Sergey Zubov told Izvestia about this.
“The team of the Czech Republic and Russia was removed from the flight for violating the mask regime,” Zubov said. He noted that Canada has very strict regulations in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
It is also reported that the main complaints were directed to the Czech team. The Russian national team was removed from the flight due to violation of the mask regime by head coach Zubov. According to a source close to the situation, the team coach smoked when he entered the plane through the landing sleeve.
Earlier on January 1, it became known that the Russian youth ice hockey team could not fly out of Calgary, Canada after the 2022 World Youth Championship was canceled. Lehmann noted that the cause of the incident was drunkenness, smoking and the refusal of the Russian delegation to wear masks.
