Valencia was first hit by an abnormally huge hailstorm, and then the rains triggered a devastating flood.
On October 29, a terrible flood occurred in Valencia, Spain, killing 95 people. And entire suburbs were under water. The stream washed away bridges and cars.
AP reports this.
Emergency services in the eastern region of Valencia reported 92 dead. Two more people were killed in the neighboring region of Castilla-La Mancha, and one death was reported in southern Andalusia.
Rescuers and more than 1,100 soldiers from Spain's emergency response units have been sent to the affected areas. Spain's central government has set up a crisis committee to coordinate rescue efforts.
Valencia has seen more rainfall in eight hours than it has seen in the previous 20 months. Search and rescue efforts continue in hard-to-reach areas.
