Cashing in on cancer patients: the SBU exposed the sale of fake drugs

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the activities of a group of people who imported into Ukraine counterfeit drugs for cancer patients.

The organizers of the illegal scheme were immigrants from the Luhansk region. The attackers have been operating for almost a year .

They imported drugs, posing as drugs of well-known brands … They were also engaged in the supply of funds produced in Russia and Belarus that are not registered and prohibited for sale in Ukraine.

The goods were stored in a specially rented warehouse in Kiev. It was shipped from abroad by international shuttle buses or airplanes.

Counterfeit drugs were sold to people with cancer through online pharmacies .

< p>The SBU conducted searches at the places of residence of the attackers in Lviv and Kiev. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized a large number of drugs, worth 1 million UAH , cash, equipment, mobile phones and SIM cards with evidence of illegal activity.

Bank cards were also withdrawn from the dealers, which received funds for fake drugs.

One of the members of the criminal group was announced suspicion under Art. 321-1 (falsification of medicinal products or circulation of falsified medicinal products) UCU. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
