The Capitol Building in Washington was cleared of protesters from supporters of the current US President Donald Trump. This is reported by Politico correspondent Hugo Lowell on Twitter.
According to him, the demonstrators who burst into the Congress building a few hours ago are being taken out through the West and East entrances of the Capitol.
Protesters broke into the building and surrounded the Senate Hall on January 6. The Senate and House of Representatives have suspended a meeting, which was planned to approve the results of the electoral college, according to which Democrat Joe Biden won the presidential election. Trump himself has called on supporters to act peacefully and support the police.
