The defender of the CSKA hockey club Darren Dietz spoke about life in Moscow. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The hockey player said that he was shocked by the metropolitan traffic jams. “I have not seen this in my life, but I will get used to it. But I just arrived at an apartment in Moscow, it's great, ”he stressed. Diez added that teammates are helping him adapt so he can feel comfortable and show his game.
In November 2020, Diez named the main stereotype about Russians. He said that abroad, Russians are considered rude and tough. According to the athlete, this is due to the sound of the Russian language.
Dietz moved from Kakhastan Barys to CSKA in exchange for monetary compensation on December 17. Over five seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), the defender scored 174 points (67 goals, 107 assists) in 269 matches. He was born in Canada, but received Kazakhstan citizenship in 2019 to play for the national team.
