Canada sent a military transport plane with a new batch of non-lethal weapons to Ukraine on the night of February 4. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the country, RIA Novosti reports.

“As part of Canada’s recently announced immediate support for Ukraine and the expansion of Operation Unifier, a Canadian Air Force C-177 Globemaster aircraft took off from Trenton Air Base with a cargo of non-lethal weapons,” the ministry said.

They also noted that Ottawa “firmly supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.” The Ministry of Defense added that this donation will help the security forces of Ukraine to further protect themselves from “threats from Russia” and “its military build-up” within and around the Ukrainian territory.

Reports about “Russia’s plans to invade Ukraine” appeared in the American media in the fall of 2021. They were quickly picked up by American and Ukrainian politicians. Against the background of these statements, Kiev managed to achieve new arms supplies from NATO countries. Moscow denies reports of aggressive plans against Ukraine.
