The use of weapons is regulated by the provisions of international law.

The use of German weapons in operations on the territory of the Russian Federation, in particular Leopard 2 tanks, is not a problem, because since the beginning of Russia's attack on Ukraine, the territory of both states has been a combat zone actions.

This was stated by the head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Markus Faber, writes WAZ.de.

He stated that he does not see a problem if Ukraine uses Leopard 2 to advance into Russian territory.

“With the transfer to Ukraine – this is a Ukrainian weapon. This applies to any material, in particular Leopard 2. After Russia's attack on Ukraine, the territory of both states is a combat zone. The use of weapons is regulated by the provisions of international law,” explained Markus Faber.

At the same time, the leader of the BSW party (Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance), to which former members of the Left Party moved in 2024, Sahra Wagenknecht warned against using German weapons.

“It's very dangerous. The Chancellor should call the President of Ukraine and demand that German weapons not be used in an attack on Russian territory,” she said.

Recall that on August 8 it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had approached the city of Sudzha. In particular, Bild reported this. According to the publication, the Ukrainian army captured the village of Rubanshchina and is now at least two kilometers northwest of the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region – this is visually confirmed by footage from the scene of the fighting.

Meanwhile, military observer Konstantin Mashovets called the operation in the Kursk region “already justified” . He said that the Russian Federation will be forced to pull troops there from other operational areas, possibly even the remnants of its strategic reserves prepared for August-September 2024.
