According to Austin, Ukrainian troops "continue to make steady progress" against the Russians.
The United States can simultaneously support Israel in the war with Hamas and Ukraine in the war against Russia.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated this, press reports -Pentagon Service.
“We can and will support Israel, just as we support Ukraine. The United States can walk and chew gum at the same time,” Austin said.
He stressed that that US support for Israel is unwavering.
“We are urgently working to ensure that Israel gets what it needs to defend itself, including ammunition and Iron Dome interceptor missiles. And we will do so, even if we continue to support the people of Ukraine as they fight against Russian aggression,” the Pentagon chief added.
Ukrainian troops continue to make steady progress against the Russians who occupied their country, and NATO countries have played a critical role in helping the Ukrainian nation continue to fight , Austin said.
He clarified that NATO is a defense alliance, so it will not go to war against the Russian Federation, but will “defend Ukraine’s right to defense.”
