The North Korean dictator is at great risk.
Direct intervention of North Korea in the war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation, in particular the sending of North Korean military, could have lethal consequences for the regime Kim Jong-un.
This opinion was expressed on FREEDOM by international affairs expert Evgeniy Dobryak.
“I think this will not happen. These are theoretical points that are simply launched into the information field and included in this document that they signed,” he emphasized.
According to the expert, Pyongyang understands how such actions – like sending the military to war – can result not only for the DPRK, but also for Kim himself.
“Imagine, letting 100 thousand Korean soldiers into the center of Europe. These will be completely lost people for North Korea, who have seen real life in another region, which is completely different from the military communism built in North Korea. They understand perfectly well the active situation, how it can threaten North Korea with the end of the Kim Jong-un regime, which could come if he intervenes militarily in some other conflicts,” Dobryak emphasized.
Recall that during a visit to North Korea, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un signed a “peaceful and defensive” treaty. In particular, the document provides for “providing mutual assistance in the event of aggression against one of the participants.” They say that now Moscow does not rule out the development of military-technical cooperation with the DPRK.
