On Wednesday, March 16, near the Russian city of St. Petersburg, police detained a man who set fire to a war memorial erected in honor of the defenders of Leningrad during World War II.

This is reported by local publications with reference to the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg.

The report says that a 42-year-old man poured fuel on the wreaths laid at the monument. He explained his actions by the fact that such was “Stalin's order” resounding in his head.

This is not the first time the detainee has shown a strange interest in this memorial. Previously, he appeared here with a bucket of paint, which he tried to pour over the monument.

Now a criminal case has been opened against the man for damaging memorial structures or objects, he was taken into custody.

Recall, the odious president of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov seriously angered the Hero of Ukraine Stepan Bandera with his statements about plans to eliminate him. Bandera could not contain his emotions and “answered” the head of Chechnya, even using obscene language.
