In the Khmelnytskyi region, a 79-year-old grandfather was convicted, who brutally killed his neighbor. He will spend the next seven years behind bars.
The incident occurred at the end of April last year in the village of Dzelentsy, Volochissky district.
The investigation found that the 83-year-old grandmother was in close contact with the man, and they often went to visit each other. Whether there was any relationship between them, the pensioner refused to explain.
That evening, a 79-year-old man came to visit a neighbor, but a conflict arose during the conversation. The man grabbed a wooden leg from a stool and beat the woman to death.
The pensioner took the murder weapon with him: later he burned the bloody leg in the stove.
The lifeless body of an 83-year-old woman was accidentally discovered by her fellow villager. When the police arrived at the scene, her closest acquaintance objected to the last that he was staying with a woman.
During the priority investigative actions, the police compiled a census of products from the victim’s table. On the same day, it turned out that it was a 79-year-old pensioner who bought them at a local store.
On April 27, 2020, the court sent the suspect to the pre-trial detention center, where the pensioner was staying until the investigation was completed. The court found him guilty of premeditated murder and sentenced him to seven years in prison.
