Разведка Британии объяснила, для чего тысячи "вагнеровцев" остаются в Беларуси

Long-term presence of "Wagnerians" in Belarus almost certainly plays into the hands of Russia.

On the territory of Belarus today there are at least a thousand militants of the Wagner PMC, used in as instructors.

This is stated in a new report from British intelligence.

British analysts note that “Wagner” almost certainly helps train the Belarusian military and security forces,”

“There are most likely less than a thousand Wagnerites in Belarus, while during the period of greatest presence after June 2023 there were about 8,000 of them,” the report says.

It is unlikely that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will want to expand the use of militants from the Wagner PMC, for example, as part of the actions of Belarusian security forces within the country or for border protection.

“The long-term presence of Wagnerites in Belarus almost certainly plays into Russia’s hands in the conduct of hostilities, since it forces Ukraine to maintain defensive positions and abandon personnel on the border with Belarus,” the review adds.

Meanwhile, in Russia they formed a new special assault squad “Storm Gladiator” from prisoners recruited for the war against Ukraine.
