Dominic Raab

British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab will discuss the “Russian threat” with Estonia and Norway. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the message of the British Foreign Office.

According to the official announcement, Raab will visit Tallinn and Oslo for talks related to the regional threat posed by Russia. Also on the agenda will be issues of climate change.

On the eve of his visit to “like-minded” countries, the British Foreign Minister noted that the threat to security posed by Russia is felt most acutely by its neighbors. According to him, Great Britain intends to “stand shoulder to shoulder” with its friends in the Baltics and Scandinavia, both militarily and in the field of combating Russian disinformation and destabilizing activities.

On March 10, Raab will meet in Tallinn with President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid and hold talks with representatives of all three Baltic countries. It is planned that the parties will address security and recovery issues after the pandemic. On March 11, he will travel to Oslo and discuss with the Norwegian ministers, as well as the foreign ministers of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, climate change and the threats posed by “hostile” states.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, demanded that the UK explain the interference in the work of the media. “If the British colleagues believe that, by practicing the tactics of silence and slowing down the transmission of the answer, they will be able to avoid dialogue on this score – no, they are mistaken,” said a spokesman for the department. According to her, London will not be able to avoid this, and in the near future such representations will be made to the British side.

At the end of February, Zakharova reported on the leaked documents of the British Foreign Office that London, through intermediaries, financially supports and manually manages the work of various information publications.
