The British Foreign Office warned of the threat of terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The authorities of Great Britain are calling on their citizens to leave the territory of Russia. If it is impossible to leave the Russian Federation, citizens are advised to limit any travel within the country.
This is stated in the statement of the British Foreign Office.
“The British Foreign Office recommends not traveling throughout Russia due to for the lack of available flight options to return to Britain and the increased instability of the Russian economy. If your presence in Russia is not urgent, we strongly recommend that you consider leaving,” the British Foreign Office noted.
The Office also warned its citizens about the absence direct flights from the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom and EU countries. Therefore, you can leave Russia by indirect flights through the countries of the Middle East and Turkey, as well as by buses to the Baltic States with a subsequent flight to Britain.
The ministry also warned about the suspension of MasterCard and Visa cards in Russia.
“You will not be able to access your funds through Russian banks or make payments to Russian businesses using non-Russian credit/debit cards,” the Foreign Ministry warned its citizens in Russia.
In addition, the diplomatic office said that in in some regions, in particular in the North Caucasus, consular support is severely limited due to security, and the ministry warned of the threat of terrorist attacks, and recalled the non-recognition of the temporary occupation of Crimea by Russia.
Recall, Ukrainian intelligence said that < strong>Russian special services are planning to stage terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation in order to increase anti-Ukrainian sentiments among the population.
