There is currently a threat from four countries, including Russia.
Britain's Chief of the General Staff Sir Roly Walker warned that the approaching threat could lead to a shock as early as 2027-2028, because Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin will want retaliation, so Britain should three years to prepare for war.
Sky News reports this.
Walker predicted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will be “very, very dangerous” when he emerges from the war in Ukraine and “will want vengeance” against Western countries supporting Ukrainian defenders. This situation could arise regardless of whether Russia wins or loses.
He said the Russians “will come roaring back to seek revenge.”
He also recalled China's prayerful invasion of Taiwan. And he spoke about Iran's intentions regarding nuclear weapons.
Another dangerous direction, according to the Briton, is the DPRK.
According to him, all four of these countries are establishing relations with each other, exchanging weapons and technology.
“From which by 2027-2028 this rapprochement can achieve some kind of unity, and your ability to deal with them separately – with a specific crisis that can be resolved using a rules-based system – I think will be significantly reduced,” Walker said.
He added that the UK is not on the brink of war, but it needs to immediately restore its strength to ensure defense.
“We have ample time to prepare, act and ensure that we rebuild a robust ground force to support our deterrence strategy,” the general said.
We will add that a new mobile laser weapon was recently tested in Britain. They said that the proliferation of drones and the evolution of combat operations using them makes the rapid adoption of counter-drone technologies even more important.
