The UK is mobilizing another 1,000 troops to support NATO and allies on the eastern flank in the event of a humanitarian crisis. This was announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, reports RIA Novosti.

“The troops from the 45th Special Forces Battalion, who are already deployed in Poland, and the Royal Wales Battle Group, which will arrive in Estonia in the coming weeks, will help Poland and other Eastern European countries cope with the consequences of any Russian aggression,” the message says.

Military activities will include joint training, exercises and contingency planning support, the text specifies.

On Wednesday, February 9, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss arrived in Moscow on an official visit. The British Embassy said that Truss will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the UK would deploy Royal Air Force (Air Force) Typhoon fighters and Navy ships in South Eastern Europe. He stressed that London is actively increasing military assistance to Ukraine.
