British entrepreneur Dale Vince is set to produce up to a thousand diamonds a month at his revolutionary factory, which creates objects out of air and water. Thus, he intends to make the process chain of diamond production environmentally harmful to the environment. Writes about this The Guardian.
“Making diamonds out of nothing but the sky, out of the air we breathe, is a magical, evocative idea, modern alchemy. We do not need to mine diamonds on earth, we can mine them in the sky, ”said the multimillionaire in an interview with the publication.
To create jewelry, the entrepreneur plans to introduce chemical vapor deposition technology at his production in Gloucestershire. He is going to use “green technology” to heat the “diamond seed” to 800 degrees in a gas chamber. Then, according to his idea, a diamond will be born from the “seed”, structurally indistinguishable from stones found in the bowels of the earth.
For his “green production” Vince will use carbon dioxide from the air, wind, solar energy, and water collected from precipitation.
Earlier, the American company Air launched the production of carbon-negative vodka. For the production of such vodka, water, air and electricity are enough. One $ 65 bottle of Air Vodka contains as much carbon as 7.5 trees can absorb.
