Russian President Vladimir Putin has scored a geopolitical victory over the US and Europe, the UK publication The Telegraph said.
As the authors of the material stated, the Russian president showed the weaknesses of the Western world. Thus, Brussels was going to play an important role in the foreign policy arena, but it was shown that its claims were not justified.
According to the newspaper, European figures refused to act as a united front against Moscow, while the United States limited itself to belligerent rhetoric. “Kyiv saw how little his allies were really willing to do for him,” the article says.
The publication also notes that the Russian Federation won, since Ukraine is most likely not to be accepted into NATO, and Nord Stream 2 is ready to supply gas to Europe.
