The Tyrolean e-mobility company Greenstorm, based in Kufstein, Tyrol, has been taken over by the British private equity company Bregal Milestone. The investment fund secured the majority in the company, reported the digital portal “Trending Topics” on Tuesday.

With co-founder Richard Hirschhuber, 17 percent of the shares remain. Carsten Greiner, founder of the online platform CarDelMar, took over the management.

Hirschhuber only remains on an advisory body. He and his co-founder Philipp Zimmermann want to dedicate themselves to new projects. How expensive the acquisition was for the fund was not disclosed. Bregal Milestone had already joined the company in 2018 and supported Greenstorm with a double-digit million amount.

The Tyrolean company offers hotels the opportunity to offer their guests and employees e-bikes and e-cars and then sells them as refurbished second-hand goods.

The new management now wants to expand to Germany. Greenstorm is already active in Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia and Croatia. A new online shop for used bikes is already ready, it said.
