Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, which is why he was urgently hospitalized at the Sirio Libanes Hospital in Sao Paulo.
This is stated in a statement by the hospital where he is being treated.
“He was transferred to the Sirio Libanes Hospital in Sao Paulo, where he underwent a craniotomy to drain the hematoma. The operation was performed without complications. For now, the president is under observation in the intensive care unit,” the statement said.
Late Monday evening, Lula felt a severe headache, after which an MRI scan revealed an intracranial hemorrhage. As doctors noted, this was the result of an accident that the president suffered at home back in October.
Recall that in October, the Brazilian president injured his head at the back of the head while staying at the residence. Doctors put in stitches, but hospitalization was not required.
