Brazilian scientists have recreated the brain of a dinosaur
A group of Brazilian scientists examined the surviving skeleton of a dinosaur. Since the skull was in good condition, they were able to recreate his brain, according to the Journal of Anatomy .
At the disposal of scientists were the remains of a dinosaur Buriolestes schultzi, which are approximately 233 million years old, on the basis of them, specialists were able to reconstruct the brain. It turned out that it weighs only about 1.5 grams, and the structure is similar to the brain of a crocodile.
Scientists found that this dinosaur species excelled in hunting moving prey. He detected and pursued her with his eyes, not by smell. Experts also learned that the cognitive abilities of the ancient lizard surpassed the giant sauropods (diplodocus, brachiosaurus), but were inferior to theropod dinosaurs (tyrannosaurus, velociraptor).
