The sensation is perfect! Evander Holyfield is making his comeback. The ex-world champion entered the boxing ring again at the age of 58.
There has already been speculation in the American media in the past few days, now it's fixed. Holyfield, who once bitten off an ear from boxing icon Mike Tyson, will make his comeback next Saturday. This was confirmed by the organizer Thriller.
Holyfield will face former UFC champion Vitor Belfort on Saturday. The fight in a casino outside of Miami is scheduled for eight rounds of two minutes each. However, the fight will be rated as a professional fight.
Holyfield stepped in for Oscar de la Hoya at short notice. The 48-year-old ex-boxer cannot get into the ring because of a corona infection.
His last fight so far Holyfield completed on May 7, 2011 against the Dane Brien Nielsen. “Evander Holyfield is in better shape today than he was in his last fight, the heavyweight fight is sure to go down in history,” said the organizers.
Holyfield is reported to have been working towards the fight for 16 months. The now 58-year-old then wanted to fight Tyson for a third time. Holyfield had won both duels.
