Head of EU diplomacy said that even after the war, coexistence with the Russian Federation will be very difficult after what Russia has done in Ukraine.

Head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell believes that Europe needs to learn to coexist with Russia, because even after the war, the Russian Federation will not disappear anywhere.

He spoke about this in an interview with the official EU magazine.

Borrell commented on the call of Emmanuel Macron “not to humiliate Russia” and stated that it is not only the President of France who thinks so.

“This is an expression that translates reality: Russia will continue to exist after the peace negotiations, and it will be necessary to clearly define the way we intend with it coexist. This coexistence will be very difficult after what Russia has done in Ukraine. But we will still have to try to coexist with the Russians on this continent,” said the European Union Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

According to to him, channels of communication with Russia never closed.

“The Austrian chancellor was in Moscow recently, the head of the African Union is returning from Sochi, and two envoys of the UN Secretary General are in Russia to try to find a solution to the problem of Ukrainian grain exports. We must continue negotiations with Russia,” Borrell summed up.

Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that French President Emmanuel Macron's attempts to find some kind of diplomatic outlet for Kremlin head Vladimir Putin are in vain.

The head of state stressed that Ukraine will not cede territory in order to “save face to Putin”.
