The head of European diplomacy Borrell accused Russia of disinformation on the escalation in Donbass

The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the Russian media are engaged in disinformation regarding the alleged offensive of Ukraine in the Donbass. His words are quoted on the website of the European External Action Service.
“I have just returned from a NATO ministerial meeting where the coordination of the alliance with the European Union was discussed. None of those present have evidence of the withdrawal of Russian troops from the borders with Ukraine,” the diplomat stressed. He accused Russia of deliberately lying about Ukraine attacking Russian people in Donbass.
He added that a month ago there were no fights.
On Thursday, February 17, the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR) and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) accused each other of shelling and escalating the conflict in Donbass. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called reports of the shelling of the DPR and LPR by Ukraine “a staging to discredit the authorities in Kiev.”
